So, in 2012, AC Accounting and Business Solutions was formed to fulfil that brief.
It wasn’t long before the practice was booming, as word spread along the Ballarat grapevine about these sprightly young accountants who were dead keen on engaging and connecting with their clients.
And so, the client list quickly quadrupled and our office at 1 Ascot Street South, Ballarat, became a veritable hive of activity.
Our directors, Andrew, Peter and Daina, are extremely chuffed to have some of the Western Region’s finest accountants and support staff on the team.
A business is nothing without its staff. At AC Accounting & Business Solutions you’re always greeted with a big smile and a welcome greeting from our administration staff, we couldn’t function without them, they’re fantastic! We also have some of the most dedicated and inquisitive Accountants on the team, always thinking outside the square to come up with the best and most tax effective strategies to help your business. We aren’t all about recording every six minutes spent on a job, our staff are encouraged to think of ways to help a business progress and grow. Each staff member has a different set of skills which leads to a full service to be offered by the AC team.
Not your typical nerd herder, Andrew is a dedicated weekend warrior.
When he’s not getting around the basketball courts, he can be found enjoying a spot of waterskiing or some serious snowboarding (depending on the season).
Born and raised in Ballarat, Andrew is a highly skilled practitioner in property development and property-related transactions, business restructuring and planning, sale/acquisition of businesses, wealth management and self-managed superannuation, tax planning and minimisation, finance applications and funding and succession planning.
Qualifications: Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting.
Certifications: Intuit Quickbooks Certified Advisor, Xero Certified Advisor
Memberships: CPA
Born and raised in Ballarat, Peter is passionate about supporting his local community and has acted as treasurer for his beloved Buninyong Football Club for more than 10 years.
Peter has experience across a wide range of industries including construction, manufacturing, hospitality, medical and pharmacy clients.
Specialising in business and taxation planning, profit improvement and business structuring, he also offers extensive expertise in personal and business income tax, cash flow management, budgeting and self-managed superannuation fund advice.
Qualifications: Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting, Diploma of Financial Planning.

Memberships: Institute of Chartered Accountants
Daina has been working public practice since 2002, mainly in the areas of Business Advisory, Tax, Self-Managed Superannuation and has a background in I.T.
She is passionate about working closely with small to medium businesses to improve their internal business structures, gain insight into strategic direction and to help them achieve their personal and business goals.
An in-depth experience across a number of industries including medical, agriculture, construction, and manufacturing also dealing in the areas of exporting, research & development and international tax.
Daina serves on a number of boards, spends a lot of time in the community with her young family and is never far away from a tennis or netball court.

Danni joined our team in 2012 and her superb attention to detail has made her an invaluable member of our team.
She takes a special interest is in working with Self-managed super funds. She welcomed her first child in July 2017 and then twins in August 2019, so you know that her multitasking skills are on point.
Her weaknesses are chocolate and Moscato, and when not in the office you will find her at home cooking for her family and answering the question ‘why’ for the hundredth million time.

Kylie grew up in the county and moved to Melbourne in 2007, where she spent a decade refining her skills in accounting. In 2017, she relocated to Ballarat and instantly fell in love with the regional country life. We are thrilled to have Kylie join our team in 2024, bringing her wealth of experience and passion for helping small businesses.
Kylie specializes in small businesses, passionately helping them understand their tax situations.
As a Parent Representative at Ballarat Grammar, Kylie enjoys giving back to the community. She also manages a hobby sheep farm just outside of Ballarat on weekends, balancing this with driving her busy kids to football and soccer. Kylie loves family travel, whether it’s camping or exploring overseas.

Born and raised in Ballarat, Nat has been a dedicated professional in the accounting industry since 2018.
She completed her studies to become a Chartered Accountant in 2024 and is passionate about delivering expert guidance in personal and business taxation.
When she’s not in the office, you can find Nat at the footy cheering on her beloved Magpies, or spending time at home with her fur baby, Nora. A self-proclaimed coffee enthusiast, she keeps the office energised with her love for caffeine!

Ballarat born and raised, Mikaela joined our team as a graduate accountant in 2017 after completing her Bachelor of Commerce, Majoring in Accounting and Bachelor of Management double degree.
Mikaela has welcomed her first child in 2021, she also loves spending time with her fur babies Milo and Lexi.
Mikaela is passionate about her work and helping clients! Mikaela enjoys a good holiday

Kate joined us as an accountant / bookkeeper in 2020 after five years as a State Government public servant.
Kate is also a former franchisee of Muzz Buzz in Sebastopol, and senior accountant at Geelong Football Club.
Although she has many skills, she’s an absolute standout when it comes to budgets, forecasting, financial reporting and financial analysis.

Mikaela joined AC Accounting in 2022, after relocating from sunny Queensland where she gained 2 years’ experience as an undergraduate accountant.
She has recently completed Bachelor of Accounting degree and is eager to further develop her knowledge and experience under the wings of the AC Team.
In her spare time, Mikaela enjoys spending time with her family and friends, being outdoors, and making a mean strawberry daiquiri.

Tom joined the team at AC Accounting in 2024 and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce at Deakin University’s Waterfront Campus. His passion lies in maximizing tax savings and mastering the complexities of the tax system.
Outside of work, Tom enjoys playing golf, watching footy, running, hitting the gym, and spending quality time with friends and family.

Jessie joined the team at AC accounting this year and with experience in Accounting Admin since 2017. She also has experience in Hospitality and Beauty Therapy.
She enjoys getting away on the weekends to the river, beach or anywhere with water whenever she can. When she isn’t in the office you will find her out for a nice meal and cocktails with friends.
Qualifications: Certificate III in Business and Certificate IV in Accounting & Bookkeeping
With 20 years of sales and administration, Sarah is a recent addition to AC Accounting. Throughout her career, she has excelled in various roles, including sales management, client relations, and office administration. Her strong organizational skills and attention to detail have consistently contributed to the success of the teams she has been part of.
A mother of three sports-loving children, Sarah’s weekends are filled with activities at stadiums, fields, and dance studios. She also volunteers as the Junior Administrator at Wendouree Cricket Club.
In her downtime, Sarah enjoys relaxing by the coast, sharing wine and cheese with friends and family.

Madilyn is currently undertaking a school based traineeship with us whilst also completing year 11 at Ballarat High School.
She is the oldest of 3 girls. In the summertime you will find her at the beach with friends. She keeps herself busy by working at sovereign hill on the weekends. Madilyn has been doing Calisthenics for over 14 years and has now started coaching.
